Winter Break | Dec. 21, 2019 – Jan. 5, 2020 | CLOSED
All public service departments, including the Circulation/Reserve Desk, Interlibrary Loan, Reference Desk/Chat, Reference Online Center (ROC) Lab, and STEP Labs, close 15 minutes before the building closes.
The library will be CLOSED for winter break from Saturday, Dec. 21 through Sunday, Jan. 5.
Special Collections has acquired the collection of local newsman and former UL Lafayette journalism professor Alton Broussard. Born in St. Martinville in 1911, Mr. Broussard's journalism career began when he was in high school, where he established their first student newspaper. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Louisiana State University, both in journalism. Newspapers he worked for included the Lake Charles American Press, the New Orleans Times-Picayune, and the Daily Advertiser, among many more.

Dr. James Savage of the Office of Communications and Marketing has written an article about The Lafayette Guide and Special Collections's event commemorating it. The article discusses the influence of the Guide, and the means it took to get it produced.

Join us to enjoy a silent disco fashion show featuring a capsule collection by Rony Billiardo, an emerging young fashion designer from Indonesia. His designs have been featured in many publications. He combines authentic Indonesian textiles for a youthful, casual look. Exclusive designs will be available for purchase following the event.
