All public service departments, including the Service Desk, Interlibrary Loan, Ask a Librarian/Chat, Reference Online Center (ROC) Lab, and STEP Labs, close 15 minutes before the building closes.
Puppies & Popcorn
Join us for Puppies & Popcorn on May 6 at 1 p.m. in Dupré Library. Stop by for a quick break, meet some pups, and grab some popcorn!
Library Open 24 Hours for Finals
The library will be OPEN 24 HOURS starting at 7 a.m. Monday, April 27 until 4:30 p.m. May 8 for the week before and the week of finals. Overnight security is provided.
All public service departments, including the Service Desks, Interlibrary Loan, Ask a Librarian/Chat, Reference Online Center (ROC) Lab, and STEP Labs, close at their regular hours:
Monday – Thursday | 7:30 a.m. – 11:45 p.m.
Friday | 7:30 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.

Sunday | 2 p.m. – 10:45 p.m.
Potted Perfection
Stop by for Potted Perfection during Earth Week in the Lit Lounge at 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.!
Decorate a plant pot and take home seeds to start your own garden.
No experience is needed and all materials are provided.
Pet-a-Gator
The alligators are coming! Get up close with Louisiana wildlife.
Join us on April 21 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. to touch and learn about baby alligators with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Annual Caffery Competition: Submission Deadline April 3, 2026
Dupré Library is accepting scholarly research papers and projects for the 2026 Annual Caffery Competition.
The Jefferson Caffery Research Award, established in 1967 by Ambassador and Mrs. Jefferson Caffery, recognizes outstanding original student scholarly research using primary source materials held in the Special Collections areas of the library.
The winner of this annual award receives $500. The award is sponsored by Dupré Library and the University Library Committee.

Browsing Bookshelf — The Book Was Better
Ever finished a movie and thought the book was better?
Our March Browsing Bookshelf at Dupré Library is built around that very idea! This month’s theme, “The Book Is Better,” features books that were later adapted into movies and TV shows, so you can experience the original story before (or after) seeing it on screen.
