Certified therapy dog teams from the organization Pets for Health will once again be visiting us during finals week to help students relax and de-stress.
The event takes place on Wednesday, May 6, at 1 p.m. on the 1st and 2nd floors.
Dupré Librarian Sheryl M. Curry has received the Lucy B. Foote Award, given by the Louisiana Library Association's Subject Specialist Section at the Association's annual conference in March. This award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to special librarianship. Curry was honored for her years as Review Column Editor of the Louisiana Libraries journal and for her initiatives in providing access to environmental information.
The library will be OPEN 24 HOURS for finals week beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, and lasting until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 8.

EdITLib is a premiere online resource for aggregated, peer-reviewed research on the latest developments and applications in educational technologies and e-learning. The library includes more than 100,000 documents of published international journal articles, conference papers, eBooks, and multimedia content from tens of thousands of leading authors.
Trial access is available through May 15.

Dupré Library was recently awarded grant funding by the UL Lafayette Division of Academic Affairs to purchase a one-year subscription to Screenleap, a multi-platform, cross-browser screen sharing application that allows users to immediately share their desktop and laptop screen with others. The library will use the application to improve its instructional and reference services for students and faculty. Reference librarians will use one account to share their screen with remote users to directly demonstrate library resources.
Referencia Latina is a comprehensive database whose resources include over 100 multidisciplinary reference books, more than 100,000 images captioned in Spanish, and full-text from prominent Latin American newspapers and magazines.

LGBT Studies in Video features documentaries, interviews, archival footage, and select feature films exploring LGBT history, gay culture and subcultures, civil rights, marriage equality, LGBT families, AIDS, transgender issues, religious perspectives on homosexuality, global comparative experiences, and other topics. Users can browse the collection by people, themes, and topics, and rich playlist functionality allows users to create, annotate, and organize clips. Permissions for in-class, on-campus, and remote-access viewing are included.
The trial lasts until May 3, 2015.
