WestlawNext Campus Research is a full-text database with news, business information and law-related resources. Legal resources include state and federal cases, statutes and regulations. News resources include current and archival editions of top national and international newspapers, magazines, trade journals and company information for private and public U.S. corporations.


Research Databases can be accessed using your ULID and password.

Database Trial: Scopus

Scopus is an abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature in the fields of science, technology, medicine, social science, and arts and humanities. Scopus includes more than 50 million records from scholarly journals, trade publications, book series and conference papers, and features tools to track, analyze and visualize research.

The trial lasts through Nov. 27.

Database Trials: SAGE Stats and US Political Stats

Two statistics databases:

SAGE Stats provides data from private and public sources for social science students and researchers, and includes visualization and data compare features.

U.S. Political Stats is a data visualization and research tool designed to provide data on Congress, the Supreme Court and the Presidency. Users can analyze, compare, and export data in maps, tables, line graphs, bar charts, and pie charts.

Trials last through Dec. 21.

Reading by Ernest Gaines

Join us for a reading by author Ernest Gaines on the campus of UL Lafayette next Sunday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. in Moody Hall 103. The reading is part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the publication of his first novel, Catherine Carmier. The event is free and open to the public.
