Book talk with Attica Locke at Ernest J. Gaines Center

The Ernest J. Gaines Center and the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum are pleased to announce that Attica Locke, 2013 Gaines Award Winner and writer and producer for the Fox hit television show Empire, will be giving two book talks in April on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus. Locke’s first novel, Black Water Rising, was nominated for an Edgar Award, an NAACP Image Award, and was short-listed for the prestigious Orange Prize in the U.K.

Exhibit: Folklorist Nick Spitzer

In cooperation with the College of the Arts, the March library exhibit celebrates the career contributions of folklorist, professor of anthropology and American studies, and American Routes host and producer, Nick Spitzer. Spitzer is the recipient of this year's Festival of the Arts' SPARK Lifetime Achievement Award sponsored by the College of the Arts.

Biology Tutoring in the Library With Mentoring Matters

Volunteers from the UL Lafayette Department of Biology's Mentoring Matters program will be in the library throughout the semester to tutor students who need help with their biology coursework, including BIO 110, BIO 121, and BIO 112 (laboratory).

Monday | 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Tuesday | 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Wednesday | 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Thursday | 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The tutoring station will be located in the Reference Area on the 1st floor.
