Database Trial: Kanopy Streaming Video

Kanopy is an on demand streaming video service with access to more than 26,000 films each year. Kanopy works directly with filmmakers and film distribution companies to offer award-winning collections including titles from PBS, BBC, Criterion Collection, Media Education Foundation and more.

The trial is available through Nov. 11.


Research Databases can be accessed using your ULID and password.

Event: Geaux Away - Dupré Library Travel Day

Travel Day will be held on Oct. 6, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This event will unveil the library's new, generously donated, travel book collection.

Stop by anytime throughout the afternoon to browse the new travel book collection, learn about travel opportunities, start the process for getting a passport, and much more.

We will be giving away lots of prizes. Raffles drawn every 15 minutes.

All students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The Past, Present & Future of Archives: Panel discussion celebrates 50th anniversary of University Archives and Acadiana Manuscripts Collection

On Tuesday, October 13, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, a panel discussion on the Past, Present & Future of Archives will be held in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the University Archives and Acadiana Manuscripts Collection. The discussion will also address the changing nature of scholarly research. Panelists include Tara Laver, Curator of Manuscripts at Special Collections, Louisiana State University; Lee Miller, Head of the Louisiana Research Collection, Tulane University; and Dr.

ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global is the world's most comprehensive collection of dissertations and theses from around the world, spanning from 1743 to the present day and offering full-text for graduate works added since 1997, along with selected full-text for works written prior to 1997. It contains a significant amount of new international dissertations and theses both in citations and in full-text.

Graduate Research Skills Workshop Offered

On Thursday, Sept. 3, the library will host a graduate skills research workshop for graduate assistants who need help planning the research component of their freshman classes, or whose own research skills could use a brush up.

Topics covered will include (but are not limited to) database searching, library website navigation, WorldCat, plagiarism and citation management.

The workshop will be held in room 141 on the 1st floor at 4 p.m..
