Off-campus access to online library resources, such as databases and journals, may be unavailable intermittently due to a network issue. This issue may cause the 'Log in to Library Resources' page to not load.

The University IT Service Desk is working on a resolution, but a timeframe is not available at the moment.

Exhibit: UL Lafayette Student Trophies

The current exhibit in the Main Stairwell showcases a selection of awards given to UL Lafayette students, from the 1940s through the 1980s, for their performance in a variety of judged competitions, including debates, public speaking, poetry readings, dramatic interpretations, athletics, drills, rallies, homecoming events, and Air Force ROTC cadet activities.

These trophies are part of the University Archives in the Special Collections, 3rd floor.

Database Trial: Psychology Resources of the APA

PsycBOOKS includes chapters in PDF from books published by the APA and other distinguished publishers, and includes digitized content of historical significance from the Archives of the History of American Psychology (AHAP) collection. It also contains classic books of landmark historical impact in psychology dating from the 1600s, and the exclusive electronic release of authored entries from APA/Oxford University Press Encyclopedia of Psychology.

New Wi-Fi in the Library

Have you tried accessing the wireless network in the library recently? If so, you will notice two new Wi-Fi names: "GeauxWifi" and "GeauxGuest."

When trying to connect to either network, you will need to register your device. Students, faculty, and staff can connect with their ULID and password.

Did You Know About ... ChemDraw?

ChemDraw Prime is a molecule editor software purchased by the University's Department of Chemisty. It is a powerful, yet easy-to use, tool for producing chemical and biological drawings. You can create your own drawings or use those provided in the available templates.

The software is available for use on the first 10 computers in the ROC Lab (Reference Online Center) behind the Reference Desk. Look for this icon on the Desktop:

University taps economist as Blanco policy center's founding director

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has named Dr. Stephen R. Barnes founding director of the Kathleen Babineaux Blanco Public Policy Center.

Barnes directs LSU’s Economics and Policy Research Group, the state’s largest university-based economics research center. He will begin his new position at UL Lafayette in August.

Barnes said the Blanco Center “is poised to become a leading source of research on the most pressing challenges facing Louisiana.”
