Event: Lecture of Dr. Emma Wakefield-Paillett, First Black Female Doctor in Iberia Parish

The Ernest J. Gaines Center would like to invite you to hear Dr. Phebe Archon Hayes deliver a lecture on Dr. Emma Wakefield Pailett, the first female Black doctor in Iberia Parish. Dr. Hayes’s lecture will be on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Gaines Center Hallway, on the 3rd floor.

Dr. Hayes’s lecture will be at 5:30 pm in Gaines Center Hallway, on the 3rd floor of the Edith Garland Dupré Library. Dr. Hayes is the president of the Iberia African American Historical Society. She also served the University of Louisiana at Lafayette: first as a professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and as Dean of the College of General Studies. Dr.
