The library, now a member of RapidILL, offers free access to journal articles and book chapters with 24-hour turnaround times.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) provides access to material not already available from the library's collections. If we don't have what you need, we'll try to get it for you from another institution through ILL.

Scott Jordan, Digitization Archivist, and Janelle Zetty, Head of Cataloging, have collaborated to create a new digital exhibit featuring photographs from the Ory Miguez Collection.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette just celebrated its 125th birthday on July 14. Louisiana Gov. Murphy J. Foster signed Act 162 to establish Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute, now UL Lafayette, in 1898 but there was no library until many years later. Construction of the first library, Stephens Memorial Library, now Stephens Hall, didn't begin until 1939 and was completed in 1940.

Did you know that Special Collections is open to everyone, not just UL Lafayette students and alumni?
All you have to do is come in, call, or make an appointment online! We do recommend making appointments in advance, but that is not required. Items in Special Collections are non-circulating, thus they cannot leave the Reading Room, but anyone can come in and request to see any of our collections.
Recreational activities are now available for checkout. We have board games, puzzles, kites, and more!
