This week, we are happy to announce the acquisition of another new collection, Collection 529, the Nehrbass Architecture Collection.

Dupré Library and Special Collections honors Samantha Schexnayder as this year's winner of the Jefferson Caffery Research Award. Her paper was entitled "The Changing Effects of 1940s Masculinity on the Expression of Emotion in the Writings of American Servicemen in World War II."
The Caffery Competition provides an award of $500.00 to recognize outstanding scholarly research utilizing primary source materials held in Special Collections of Dupré Library.

Special Collections has posted a digital exhibit on The Freedom Activist Archive.
The archive, created by Dr. Delicia Daniels through research in the Louisiana Collection, establishes a key aspect of African American Culture currently underdeveloped in government archives by extending and altering the way we engage the narratives of “runaway slaves.”
Today, we are going to look at several programs and press dossiers from past festivals.
Festival International de Louisiane has been held every year since 1987. In the first year, the festival was held over the Fourth of July weekend, but by the following year had moved to its current weekend, the last weekend of April.
The photographs attached to this post show some of the programs housed in the Reading Room from past years.
