Celebrate Constitution Day with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and fellow community members. All students, faculty, staff, and the public are encouraged to attend, as we commemorate The Constitution of the United States of America.

Constitution Day marks an event in U.S. American History that is not soon forgotten. Join us as we celebrate the day on which the Founders of America signed their name to a Constitution that celebrates the freedoms we endeavor to keep to this very day. We will begin the celebration in UL Lafayette’s Dupré Library and will kick off with an actual Naturalization Ceremony. Dr. Rick Swanson, Constitutional Law Scholar, Head of the Political Science Department, and fellow professor will soon after give a brief presentation on the guiding principles of this important piece of history. Attendees will then aid in the reading of the very Constitution we are celebrating.

The program will finish with a Panel of some of UL Lafayette’s finest professors and faculty. The Panel: “Who is an American?” will be in Griffin Hall, Room 147, and will commence at 3 p.m. Panelists include Dr. Rick Frankel, Mr. Denon Santiny, Dr. Theodore Foster, and Ms. Cheylon Woods.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
