Recently libraries were made aware of some privacy and security concerns around the newly released Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) 4 Reader. ADE Reader is the most commonly used desktop application for accessing eBooks that contain Adobe’s DRM (Digital Rights Management) software.
The information is not being passed from the eBook lending service but rather from the client software (ADE 4 Reader) used to open the protected eBook.
The annual African American Literature Spoken Word & Read Out will take place Thursday, February 26, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Student Union on the campus of UL Lafayette. The event is sponsored by the Ernest J. Gaines Center and will feature PowerfUL Poets, a spoken word group that performs on campus and around the community.

We're pleased to announce this year's call for papers for the Annual Caffery Competition, which awards $500 for the best original scholarly paper using primary research materials from Special Collections, which includes the University Archives and Acadiana Manuscripts Collection, Louisiana Collection, Rare Book Collection, Ernest J. Gaines Center, Cajun and Creole Music Collection, Microforms, and U.S. Government Information.
Dupré Library and the University Library Committee take great pleasure in announcing the Caffery Competition and annual award for the most outstanding scholarly research paper submitted by a UL Lafayette student and which meets the criteria of the competition.
