Today, we are highlighting local anniversaries, including the 20-year anniversary of our Cajun & Creole Music Collection (CCMC).

Created in 2003, the multi-media Cajun and Creole Music Collection has grown to include over 10,000 recordings of Louisiana sounds & rhythms, plus other music-related archival artifacts and collections. Join us in celebrating 20 years of services and support to preserve and promote the history, influences, development, and diversity of our unique musical cultures.

Together we celebrate! Check out other Lafayette area anniversary celebrations that are taking place this year:

  • Lafayette Parish Bicentennial - 200 years
  • University of Louisiana at Lafayette - 125 years
  • KRVS Radio Acadie - 60 years
  • Center for Louisiana Studies (COllege of Liberal Arts) - 50 years
  • Downtown Alive!
