“Becoming Woman” is going to be a new added addition to our History Department in University Archives.

The collection includes vintage photographs taken in Crowley, Louisiana by Barnett Studio of Crowley, between 1910 and 1930, along with factual descriptions of what life was like for women during this time. All photographs were placed in Mylar to protect them from any potential damage.

This new addition can also be linked to our existing Paul B. Freeland Collection, which includes numerous photographs of rice farming, irrigation, equipment, and milling in the Crowley, Louisiana region. Some photographs were taken by the same company that captured the photographs in the Becoming Woman collection.
