Charles W. Triche, III, Dean Emeritus of University Libraries, retired

Charles W. Triche, III, Dean Emeritus of University Libraries, retired from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette on Aug. 6, 2018. Dean Triche retired after 42 years of service in Dupré Library, twenty-one as Library Dean. He enhanced the reputation of Edith Garland Dupré Library by significantly expanding the services offered, overseeing the $14 million addition and renovation of the library from 1998-2000, and initiating the collaborative effort to create a center to house the manuscripts, papers, and memorabilia of Ernest J. Gaines. Immediately before his retirement, he initiated the collaborative effort to create the Blanco Public Policy Center, which will house the papers of former Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco. His dedication, effectiveness, and exemplary service to the University are greatly appreciated.
