New Aquisitions and Purchases

Dupré Library has recently acquired the EBSCO eBooks University Press Collection. This collection includes more than 32,000 multi-disciplinary titles from over 90 University Presses.

For more information on using eBooks, view the Guide to EBSCO eBooks. All ROC Lab computers are currently outfitted with Adobe Digital Edition to be used for viewing all EBSCO eBooks, including this new collection.

New Book Spotlights UL Lafayette’s History

A new book from Arcadia Publishing features a visual timeline of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s history.

Authored by Dr. Zachary Stein, assistant dean of technical services at Edith Garland Dupré Library, and Dr. Michael S. Martin, professor of history and head of the Department of History, Geography and Philosophy, the collection of black-and-white photographs tells the story of the campus’ evolution from 1901 to today.

New Database: Academic Video Online (AVON)

Academic Video Online (AVON) is streaming video collection provides more than 62,000 titles spanning the widest range of subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music, and more through a range of content-types (such as documentaries, films, demonstrations, etc.).


Research Databases can be accessed using your ULID and password.

New Database: Education Source

Education Source database covers all levels of education—from early childhood to higher education—as well as all educational specialties such as multilingual education, health education, and testing. It includes full-text for more than 1,800 journals, 550 books and monographs, education-related conference papers, and citations for more than 5 million articles, including book reviews.


Research Databases can be accessed using your ULID and password.

New Database: MEDLINE Complete

MEDLINE Complete, the largest companion to the MEDLINE index, provides full-text for more than 2,400 medical journals. Many of the most-used journals are available with no embargo, allowing users to access the information as soon as it is published.

The database provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more.
