Pride-Dye

UL staff and faculty identifying as Queer are invited to join in a Pride celebration hosted by two of your fellow Queer colleagues!

Bring your own t-shirt to tie-dye and rejoice in Pride with your community on June 27 from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the tree deck behind the library. Then, wear your shirt to Acadiana Pride on Saturday for a Queer UL meetup following the parade at 10 a.m. at the Acadiana Pride main stage!

Special Collections - Becoming Woman Collection

“Becoming Woman” is going to be a new added addition to our History Department in University Archives.

The collection includes vintage photographs taken in Crowley, Louisiana by Barnett Studio of Crowley, between 1910 and 1930, along with factual descriptions of what life was like for women during this time. All photographs were placed in Mylar to protect them from any potential damage.

Special Collections - Nursing Scrapbooks

These Nursing Scrapbooks were recently found in our University Archives and will be re-processed in the following week!

The scrapbooks contain pictures from 1984 to 1999. The pictures depict students engaged in their nursing classes, studies, and activities, such as N 402 ‘Adventures in Reality,’ a learning program designed to foster personal growth and group development. There are also more photographs of Alumni breakfasts and luncheons throughout the years.
