Digitization & Photoduplication Policies & Procedures

The Special Collections Department at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette provides scanning services for research and scholarly use. Self-service scanning with the overhead scanner is at no charge. Photocopying and digitization of archival material and manuscript collections are done by staff for researchers for a fee. Special Collections will not duplicate entire collections, books, or microfilm reels for users.

Digitized Collection of L’Acadien Yearbooks Available Online

In Jan. 2015, the Special Collections department at the library received a Student Technology Enhancement Program (STEP) grant to digitize the University’s yearbooks, providing access to over a century of the University’s fascinating past online. LYRASIS Digitization Collaborative performed the scans, and Internet Archive now hosts the completed collection in their online digital archive. Anyone can now access the online yearbook collection.

Disability Awareness Exhibition

A Disability Awareness Exhibition will be on display in the library during the month of October.

The exhibition is committed to spotlighting abilities, breaking down barriers and fostering a world where diversity is celebrated. Its mission is to redefine perspectives and challenge preconceived notions around disability.

Donations & Gifts Policy

Due to space constraints, Dupré Library is currently not accepting physical item donations, such as books.

Introduction

Dupré Library welcomes gifts of library materials which will increase the capability of the collection to support the mission of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The library handles gifted materials according to guidelines explained within this policy statement.
