Note: The back entrance will be closed during this time.

All public service departments, including the Circulation/Reserve Desk, Interlibrary Loan, Reference Desk/Chat, Reference Online Center (ROC) Lab, and STEP Labs, close 15 minutes before the building closes.

Event: Remembering Ernest J. Gaines

Join us for a memorial of Dr. Ernest J. Gaines on Dec. 3 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Dr. Jenna Scuito and Dr. Marcia Gaudet will explore the impact of Ernest J. Gaines' work and legacy on African American and Southern Literature. During this virtual event, we will learn about his influences on the speakers' work and research and, more importantly, how Dr. Gaines continues to influence others today.

Fun Fact Friday with Special Collections

This week, we are looking at two collections that have some pretty cool items. Collections 111 and 111a are the City of Lafayette Collections.

Collection 111 contains records of ordinances, materials from the Chamber of Commerce, Bicentennial Celebration, and festival, maps of Lafayette and videotapes. The videotapes were nostalgia gatherings put together by the by the Lafayette Centennial Commission. All of the videotapes date from 1983-1984.

Library Open 24 Hours for Finals

The library will be OPEN 24 HOURS starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28 until 4:30 p.m. Dec. 9 for the week before and the week of finals.

All public service departments, including the Circulation/Reserve Desk, Interlibrary Loan, Reference Desk/Chat, Reference Online Center (ROC) Lab, and STEP Labs, close at their regular hours:

Monday – Thursday | 7:30 a.m. – 10:45 p.m.
Friday | 7:30 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.
Saturday | 10 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.
Sunday | 2 p.m. – 10:45 p.m.
