All UL Lafayette faculty are invited to attend a Librarian & Faculty Meet and Greet reception on Tuesday, November 17, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. The event is an opportunity for faculty to meet their departmental librarians, learn about the services the library offers, and share any needs or suggestions with library faculty. The reception will be held in the staff lounge on the second floor of Dupré Library.
Join us for breakfast next Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 9 a.m. in the main hall on the 1st floor. We'll have free donuts and coffee for students and faculty who want to drop by, say hi, and get to know their library's most valuable resources a little bit better. We look forward to meeting you.
Congratulations to Dupré Librarians Tiffany and Peter who are featured on the podcast, "Listen with LOUIS."
The episode is called "How Dupré Library's Outreach is Inspired by an Arts and Culture Collective."
Monday, Aug. 23 at 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. & 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has acquired a first-edition copy of “Twelve Years a Slave.”
The book by Solomon Northup was published in 1853 and is housed in Dupré Library's Special Collections.
Its market value of about $10,000 has increased because of the recent success of “12 Years a Slave,” a 2013 film adapted from Northup’s memoir, according to Bruce Turner, assistant dean of special collections.
Due to inclement weather conditions, the library building will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21, Wednesday, Jan. 22, Thursday, Jan. 23, and Friday, Jan. 24.
During this time, research help will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (4:30 on Friday) via Ask a Librarian. Library departments will be available via email.
The library plans to reopen for normal operations on Saturday, Jan. 25.
