Join us for a memorial of Dr. Ernest J. Gaines on Dec. 3 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Dr. Jenna Scuito and Dr. Marcia Gaudet will explore the impact of Ernest J. Gaines' work and legacy on African American and Southern Literature. During this virtual event, we will learn about his influences on the speakers' work and research and, more importantly, how Dr. Gaines continues to influence others today.

Manny Klepper, Lafayette resident and Holocaust survivor, visited the library on Nov. 9 to share his account of Kristallnacht—the Nov 9, 1938 attack on German Jews that signaled the start of the Holocaust.
The library is dedicating a whole week of relaxing activities to ease every one of the stresses of finals. Massages, therapy dogs, snacks, games, and more.

The Ernest J. Gaines Center presents a virtual book reading with Gabriel Bump on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021 at 5 p.m.
Gabriel Bump is the 14th recipient of the Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence. He will be reading from his debut novel Everywhere You Don't Belong.
