Visit the library Nov. 9 through Dec. 8 to view Americans and the Holocaust, a traveling exhibition from The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the American Library Association that examines Americans’ responses to Nazism, war and genocide in Europe during the 1930s and 1940s.
The "Becoming Woman" Exhibit is now on display in the Jefferson Caffrey Reading Room and in the main hallway of the first floor of Dupré Library. This exhibit depicts the lives of women and how they established themselves through family, religion, education, and sense of self from the 1910s to the 1930s in a small, southern town of Louisiana.

Women's History Month celebrates ALL women, even the notorious ones. Women are courageous, resilient, intelligent, creative and most of all inspirational. Check out the display cases on the 1st floor which showcase some books inspired by and written about women. Some notable names include: Vera Atkins, a secret agent during WWII; Norma Wallace, a New Orleans madam; and Sophia Amoruso, founder and CEO of Nasty Girl.
