Annual Mount Zion River Lake Cemetery Beautification
Sat, 10/28/2023 - 8:00amHelp preserve the life, legacy, and graves of "those who have no marks": the former slaves and sharecroppers of Cherie Plantation, as well as acclaimed author Ernest J. Gaines.
Bring yardwork materials, paint brushes, brooms, shovels, and buckets if you have them. Food and drinks will be provided.
Saturday, Oct. 28 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Mount Zion Cemetery (6435 False River Rd) on the former Cherie Plantation in Point Coupee Parish.
