Yesterday’s Duke University Press access issues have been resolved.

Thu, 06/11/2020 – 2:40 p.m.

There is an access issue this afternoon with Duke University Press eBook Collection. The database provider is currently investigating the issue, and we will update you when more information is available.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

From the database provider:

We have identified an access issue with our content platform hosted at https://read.dukeupress.edu, and are actively investigating. The details are as follows:

  • As an authenticated user with access to a book and/or journal, the user will be presented with the icon that indicates the user has access to the journal or book table of contents. When the user clicks on an article or chapter of the book, the user will not have access to that content.
  • This issue does not affect content that is free or open access. It only affects access to content granted through subscriptions.
  • The website is experiencing slowness at this time.

We apologize for the inconvenience, as we know many users are relying on electronic content from the library at this time.

Our platform vendor continues to work on this issue, and we will notify you as soon as access is restored.

Thank you for your patience.
