Edith Garland Dupré Library has launched its first Institutional Repository (IR) for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

An IR is an online platform that enables/provides access to materials created by an institution’s students, faculty, and staff. The intention of the IR is to showcase works from the University community, as well as digital collections from Special Collections.

Dupré Library selected the Islandora OnDemand platform for the IR. This hosted service provides access to Islandora’s entire suite of solution packs and modules. These modules allow for uploading various forms of media (articles, images, audiovisual, etc.), batch ingesting, and analyzing statistics with Google Analytics. The Head of Special Collections and Digitization Archivist of Dupré Library are the main administrators of the IR and grant permissions for submitting to the repository.

Students, faculty, and staff are highly encouraged to contribute their scholarship to the IR. Anyone interested should contact Zachary Stein, Head of Special Collections.
