Department of History hosts "teach-in" on presidential election

The Department of History at UL Lafayette is pleased to sponsor a new series of discussions -- or “Teach-Ins” -- on controversial issues in history. The first event in the new “Teach-In” series reviews the recent 2016 U.S. presidential election in historical context.

Speakers include faculty members from the Department of History and Dupré Library who will address topics raised in this election cycle, including: Dr. D’Weston Haywood (Race & Violence in U.S. History), Dr. Chad Parker (Moderator -- 20th Century U.S. Foreign Relations), Dr. Liz Skilton (20th Century Gender & Environmental History), Dr. Rich Frankel (Authoritarianism & Immigration), and Emily Deal (Information Literacy).

The event takes place at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, near Jazzman's Café on the first floor of Dupré Library. It is sponsored by the Department of History, Phi Alpha Theta, and the Guilbeau Charitable Trust, and is free and open to the public.
