William S. Patout III Sugar Library

The William S. Patout III Sugar Library is an archival collection established by sugarcane expert William “Billy” Patout III, who developed a personal collection over the years of materials related to sugarcane. The archive is housed in the family mill at M.A. Patout & Son in Jeanerette, Louisiana. The collection includes hundreds of books, photographs, periodicals, pamphlets, and research papers.

The Sugar Library is non-circulating but is open to students and scholars. Call ahead for hours and directions, (337) 276-4592.
