UL Lafayette undergraduate students can enter the 2023 Constitution Day Essay Contest and win a $200 prize from the Galvez Chapter of The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Topic: Write a 28th Amendment to the Constitution

Contest Rules:

  • 500 words
  • Deadline September 15, 2023
  • Justify your amendment with contemporary data
  • All UL undergraduate students are eligible to enter
  • Email essay to cola@louisiana.edu with subject line "Constitution Day Essay"
  • Winner must attend DAR Galvez Chapter meeting Oct. 5, 2023, 11 a.m.
  • Winning essay will be published in the DAR Galvez Chapter's newsletter

Prize: $200 prize, generously donated by the Daughters of the American Revolution Galvez Chapter

Topic Ideas:

  • Reform campaign finance?
  • Declare health care a human right? (or clean water) (or housing)
  • Make it compulsory to vote?
