This week we are highlighting the vertical file collection.

Vertical files are files, traditionally housed in filing cabinets, that contain newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and brochures, that you wouldn’t necessarily find in the library. These files are maintained by Special Collections staff and can provide valuable information for users doing research.

For the past several years, we have been working to digitize the collection. Even though some are now available in a digital format, because of copyright restrictions, users must still come into the library to gain access to the materials.

To see a list of what is currently available in digital format, check out the Vertical Files Indexes.

For more information on this or any collections, contact Special Collections.
