Mary Segura collected photographs of Vermilion, Iberia, and Saint Martin Parishes, in south Louisiana.

This collection consists of photographs of Harry S. Truman’s visit to Abbeville during a local festival in 1960 and of New Iberia and St. Martinville, including Avery Island and Evangeline State Park. The photographs were taken by Corinne Peace (1924-2007), who worked as an American Press staff writer for 20 years and lived in Morgan City, Lake Charles, and Loreauville, Louisiana. Ms. Peace was also editor of Southern Lady magazine in Morgan City, a correspondent for the Baton Rouge Morning Advocate, and columnist for the Daily Iberian.

The collection was donated by Pati Threatt and formerly housed at the McNeese State University library archives.
