| Frank Charles Triay was a resident of Lafayette who was an active worker in the Socialist Party (US) and the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. The scrapbook reflects those interests. It contains newspaper clippings on primarily socialism and politics including many political cartoons with other clippings on scattered topics including the Triay family, the labor union, parapsychology, the World War II. Triay collected Political campaign items for the Socialist party (US) and the LaFollett Progressive Party (1924). In addition to clippings about Eugene V. Debs there are also some letters from Debs and his brother Theodore in the scrapbook. There are a few photographs included as well as certificates, tickets, etc. For example, the scrapbook contains the charter for the Socialist Party Club of Lafayette, Louisiana (1904). There are poems, prayers, and radio dialog which are either humorous or satirical. Subjects covered by the material in the scrapbook include: | ||||||||||||
