The Attakapas Historical Association was founded in 1966 in St. Martinville, Louisiana. This corporation is a nonprofit organization which serves St. Martin, St. Mary, Iberia, and Lafayette Parishes. This organization was formed to study history, genealogy, traditions and landmarks and is to work with any group or individual who recognizes the importance of historical materials and object. The first large project they had was to restore the Darby House in New Iberia, Louisiana. They also work with other projects as well.

This collection consists of correspondence, memberships, members, conference, publication, financial and general records, meeting materials, and miscellaneous materials.
