Beginning in Spring 2013, the PaperCut program was implemented to manage printing in the STEP Computer Labs across campus. PaperCut is a print management system that is designed to reduce costs associated with excessive printing. Every student is given an account credit of $25.00 per semester. At a cost of 10 cents per page, this gives each user the ability to print 250 pages. If you need to print more than your 250 pages a semester, you will need to transfer money to your PaperCut account. The only accepted form of payment is Cajun Cash.
You can access your PaperCut account by clicking on the "Details" link on the PaperCut window on your desktop in the Lab. You can also log in to your PaperCut Account. This site shows summary, activity and environmental impact of saving paper and toner. You will be able to apply additional credits to your account immediately.
Three high-capacity printers are available for printouts in the library's STEP Computer Lab. All unclaimed printouts will be discarded at the end of the day. We ask that you consider the economic and environmental impact of your printing activities, and act accordingly. The rate at which printed pages can come out of our printers is fixed, so wait times are determined by the number and size of print jobs that are sent to our printers at a given time. Our student staff is always prepared to assist you in printing more information per page.
