Acadiana PRIDE Collection

Collection 542

Acadiana PRIDE. Collection, 2013-2021

3 feet, 5.5 inches; 22.7 gigabytes

Acadiana PRIDE was formed in 2014, where Louis Tolliver and Ted Richard acted as president and vice president respectively. To raise money, the committee held a signing contest called Acadiana Pride Idol, brought in visual and performing artists, and hosted benefit dinners. Support also came in from Cox Communications and the Lafayette Tourism Bureau. The first festival ran for four days, with around 5000 to 6000 people in attendance. The Pride festival has been ongoing ever since.

This collection contains photographs (physical and digital) of the festival, playbills of theater pieces produced through the festival, and various memorabilia.

Ted A. Richard donated the collection.
