Riehl, Vincent (1911–1995). Collection, 1890s–1900s

Vincent Lee Riehl was born 6 January 1911 in Lafayette, LA, to Robert L. and Frances Anderson Riehl. He attended Cathedral High School and Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette). He was involved in the construction industry and other business interests, including KLFY-TV 10 in Lafayette and radio stations in Eunice and Ville Platte. He was married to author Mary Alice Fontenot.

This collection consists of mainly photographs of Acadia Parish from the late 1890s through the 1900s. These are scenes of Crowley, Rayne, Esterwood and other areas in the parish. There are also photographs of families and individuals. Also included are negatives to the photos, newspaper clippings, postcards, etc.

Note: There is an index to photographs Number 1 through 167. Not all the photographs listed in the index are in the collection.
