The Library Instruction Department is committed to the pursuit and promotion of education through library instruction. Effective library instruction reflects the University's primary purposes of teaching, learning, scholarship, research, and public service.
Want a tour? General and specialized tours of the library for University classes well as off-campus groups can be scheduled in advance through the Instructional Services Librarian, Jennifer Hamilton. Non-university groups such as high schools are encouraged to schedule tours during intercessions.
Have a class that needs library instruction? Research suggests that the best way to improve research and information literacy skills is at the point of need. Retention is optimized when learners have an immediate information need and can practice using the library resources to meet those needs. Our Library Instruction team and Departmental Librarians will work with you to develop library instruction specific to the needs of your class and assignments.
