Hazel Holloway Cain was born in Rayne, Louisiana on January 12, 1922 to Angelas Holloway and Estelle Cummings. She was married to Culver Cain. At one time, Ms. Cain was a reporter for one of the area newspapers. She died at the age of 74 on September 23, 1996. She is buried at Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery, Indian Bayou in Vermilion Parish.
This collection consists of mainly stories she wrote that her grandmother told her. These are handwritten.
