170-01 Letter explaining intent to purchase right-of-way through Teche Valley for railroad from Palmetto, LA to Vermilion Bay. The route went through Port Barre, Leonville, Arnaudville, Breaux Bridge, St. Martinsville [sic], and New Iberia. Officers and directors listed as James A. Lee, President; E. C. Roger, Vice-President; Andrew Thorpe, Secretary-Treasurer; Paul DeClouet; T. J. Labbe; W. B. Davis; Alexis Voorhies; and V. P. Guilfoux. The letter is from New Iberia, LA, dated 23 August 1897.
