Wireless network

Dupré Library is pleased to provide the next generation University wireless network (UWIN) with the support of UL Lafayette Information and Media Networks (IMN). The wireless Internet connections located in the library are to be used by UL students, faculty, and staff only. Physical Internet connections are located on the second floor hallway of the library. You must configure your computer using your built-in network application or a wireless card to access and register with UWIN. When connecting to the wireless network in Dupré Library,    please connect to UWIN and continue as usual.

Accessing UWIN

Information on connecting a device to the network is found at the IT Help Desk's web page, Connecting to UWIN. All computer users who wish to use the UL network must have a UCS account (CLID and Password). A UL Lafayette faculty or staff member sponsoring a guest may be granted short-term special guest access by contacting UL Lafayette Information and Media Networks (IMN) at (337)482-6418, or by emailing them at solutionsdesk@louisiana.edu. Users having difficulties accessing UWIN may need to consult the campus IT Help Desk at 337-482-HELP (4357) or by emailing them at ithelp@louisiana.edu.

Wireless Passphrase

In order to support the academic mission of the University and enhance security, a passphrase (security key) is now required to access UWIN, ResNet networks and other named University networks. The passphrase may be obtained by clicking on a link within the web page, Connecting to UWIN.

Library patrons are expected to comply with the university's published policies on the use of computers and network resources. They may be viewed within the University's technology policies pages.
