Dupré Library now subscribes to Elsevier’s ScienceDirect Freedom Collection, which is available only to academic institutions. The collection provides full-text articles from more than 2,500 peer-reviewed journals and chapters from almost 20,000 books covering scientific, technical and medical research.

The subscription also includes ScienceDirect backfiles, an archive of scientific journals from 1994 and older, many going back to the first issue. Backfiles allow researchers to retrieve scientific information that was not previously accessible electronically and may be difficult or impossible to locate in print.

This new database is particularly useful to UL Lafayette faculty and upper level students in the Colleges of Nursing, Engineering and Sciences.
