- For Academic Department Heads, Library Representatives, and Bibliographers: Prepare Status reports on purchase requests, information about out-of-print books, current statements of departmental book allocations, lists of materials ordered, materials received, delayed publications, prices, discounts. We do not provide this information to students
- Provide information to anyone who telephones concerning book publisher information, telephone numbers, Fax numbers, toll-free numbers, books on order, series information, prices and publications dates, etc
- Refer to the Collection Development Librarian

- Direct faculty, staff and students to online web sites
- Maintain and provide access to various library tools concerning book trade for faculty (Books in Print, VLB, etc.)
- Prepare reports of expenditures for faculty members applying for grants. Prepare various reports as requested for Academic Departments seeking accreditation, new degree programs, etc
- Assist the Center for Louisiana Studies with bibliographic information for manuscripts the Center is preparing for publication
- Assist the Dupré Library librarians as they request information for faculty concerning new book publications in various fields, various languages and various countries
- Perform out-of-print searches on the Internet and provide information about out-of-print materials for faculty
- Help with OCLC searches for faculty, students and staff (if searches are needed to locate the most recent edition or holdings in US libraries)
- Keep up and provide new technology to faculty, students, staff and patrons
- Order books, microforms, videos, DVDs, etc. for the Dupré Library
- Occasionally conduct specialized tours of Technical Services for library science classes or for graduate classes wishing to observe electronic ordering, OCLC databases, library processes
