| Fall 2007 Spring 2007 Spring 2004 Spring 2003 |
Beginning with Volume 1, No. 1 in the Spring of 1997, Joie de Livres: The Newsletter of the Edith Garland Dupré Library has expounded upon the many collections, services and personnel that comprise the library at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The title, which means "the joy of books," is a play upon the French phrase joie de vivre (i.e. "the joy of living"). While not the first newsletter issued by the library over the years, the present incarnation includes contributions by members of the library's faculty and staff detailing the many facets of our unique institution including: archival collections, awards, book sales, conferences, databases, donations, endowed professorships, equipment, events, exhibitions, grants, library construction/renovation, presentations, programs, publications, and workshops (to name just a few.) Each issue is inaugurated by "The Library in Review" by the Director of Libraries, while other features such as a column by the Reference Department and the personnel column "Personnel-ity" continue to be mainstays of this publication. Currently, select back issues are available by contacting the editor, Sherry T. Broussard. |
