About Our Depository Library

Dupré Library was designated a Federal Depository Library in 1938. As a selective depository, the library receives nearly 50 percent of selections available to depository libraries through the Federal Depository Library Program of the U.S. Government Printing Office.

Access to government information is provided to the general public. References services are provided by the Reference Department Librarians, including the Government Documents Librarian. Circulation of most documents is allowed. Appointments may be scheduled for bibliographic instruction sessions or for Internet searches.

WHAT SUBJECTS ARE COVERED IN GOVERNMENT PUBLICATIONS?

Government publications provide information on a wide range of subjects: education, health, nutrition, environmental issues, laws and regulations, international and foreign relations, science and technology, labor, business, economics, consumer protection, crime and historic preservation.

HOW DO I ACCESS OR LOCATE GOVERNMENT INFORMATION?

Government publications may be located by searching iLINK, Dupré Library's online catalog, and the MARCIVE catalog of US Government publications. The library also provides online access to the full-text GPO ACCESS databases and other federal agency information databases on the Internet.
